                                                                Rules / Regulations

The following rules and/or regulations were proposed and agreed upon to govern the Knights of Saint

Andrew Council.

Membership

Active:

* 32nd Degree:

Membership is limited to 32nd Degree Freemasons and will abide by the by-laws and those approved by the

Sovereign Grand Inspector General. This 32nd Degree membership will be the active or voting portion of the

Clan.

Non-Active:

At NO time will a MSA or 33rd Degree be taken in membership. However, all members, regardless of their

titles and rank or hat colors, CAN hold the honor of Emeritus membership in this Council if they are either

elected to Honors while a Council member, or specially selected and approved by the current Council members.

And then, ONLY as a non-voting Honorary.

* Honors:

When Council members are elected to Honors they may no longer vote or be elected to office. They may

however, continue to wear their Glengarry Bonnet and Tartan Swatch with the Knights of St. Andrew

Emblem.

1) MSA:

Those of the Council, who are awarded the decoration of MSA:, will become an Emeritus member.

A red feather will replace one of the white ones in his bonnet, when he wears his Glengarry at

the Council meetings. This is to encourage members to reach for the honors.

2) 33rd Degree:

Likewise, those who are honored with the 33rd Degree will also become as Emeritus member

and be distinguished with a gold and white feather in their bonnet.

* Honors while in Office:

If a Council member is in office when he receives Honors, he may continue in office until the end of his term, but

may no longer vote.

                                                                                    Regalia

                                                                                         Attire:

* Formal Attire:

Formal Attire is Black Tie, which consists of a dinner of tuxedo jacket worn with tuxedo pants, a tuxedo shirt

and a black bow tie, Black Glengarry Bonnet and Knights of St. Andrew Pocket Pin with Tartan plaid, or a

Prince Charlie, Argyle, or other Highland dress accompanied with a kilt.

* Regular Attire:

Regular Attire consists of a dark coat, (black or dark blue blazer), white shirt with optional Tie/bolo, Black

Glengarry Bonnet, and Knight of St. Andrew Pocket pin with Tartan plaid.

* Casual Attire:

Casual attire consists of a business casual (slacks with shirt or jersey), Black Glengarry Bonnet, and Knights of

St. Andrew Pocket Pin with plaid.

Head Covers: (Required Regalia)

The plain black Glengarry Bonnet head cover (with designated feathers, see next page) will replace the present

32nd Degree hat. Each glengarry cover will have either an Officers KSA badge or a regular knights members badge.

Tartan: (Optional)

A tartan plaid for each member of the Council will be up to the individual. If an individual has Scottish lineage and

has a family clan tartan, members are encouraged to wear their family clan tartan. For those who do not have a

family Clan tartan there are now Freemason plaids for our Masonic brethren, Armed forces colors, and a variety

of tartans for those who wish to do some exploring and find a tartan that represents them.

Jewels: (Optional)

Certain Masonic regalia manufacturers do produce Knight of Saint Andrew neck jewels suspended by a green

ribbon, these would be an optional jewel, but a highly recommended one for those who seek out active

membership within our order.

Collar: (Optional)

Today in Scotland, many of the Rite lodges still use traditional collars for separate Scottish Rite degrees, There is still in use a very tasteful green and red Knights of Saint Andrew collar, which would be very suitable for Fort Wayne KSA membership.
